Industry Panel
Processors for the Computing of the 2020s
With the slowing down of scaling and the adoption of multi-core architectures, computing platforms differentiate from CPUs, to GPUs, to heterogeneous systems including general-purpose cores and application-specific engines. The evolution of processors' architectures seems driven by the requirements of the application domains, and units that were not imaginable a few years ago, such as low-precision floating-point units, are now part of every computing platform.
In the panel, we will hear from industry experts what is the state-of-the-art in processors and computation, and what evolution to expect in the coming decade.
